CPAH’s first housing project, and the focal point of many of our service programs, Greenburg Oaks, has received a long overdue facelift. The more than $2.5 million renovation project was completed in 2006.
On the outside, the four buildings were stripped of their aging stucco siding and covered with modern Hardi-Plank siding. New, energy efficient windows were installed, all apartment decks were rebuilt, hallway entrances were spruced up, and even the rain gutters were replaced. The buildings were repainted in a more contemporary color scheme, and are expected to be sound and stable for another 30 years.
The project also received a new half-court basketball and blacktop recreation area, and easier access to its new community garden. New paving, parking area striping and an attractive entry gateway completed the transformation from the old Villa La Paz project to the new Greenburg Oaks Apartments.
The residents are benefiting from major changes inside their apartments as well. All 84 apartments received new cabinets and countertops, new hot and cold water lines, new bathroom vanities and tub surrounds, new energy efficient lighting fixtures, low flow toilets, ventilation upgrades, new window coverings, ceiling fans and fresh wall texture and paint.
